Becoming a Member

What is a Foresight Member?

A Foresight member is someone that has been recognized for their sustained contributions to the Foresight project and/or community. This work can be through working with one of our various teams or active community contributions.

Membership Benefits

• Member Hostmask: You will receive a foresight/member/<nick> irc hostmask on freenode.
• Blog Syndication on Planet Foresight: Your blog will be syndicated on Planet Foresight.

Membership Requirements

• Initial Sustained Contributions of at least 2 months to Foresight or within the community.
  • Working with a specific team, including, but not limited to:
    • Development and packaging
    • Documentation
    • Infrastructure
    • Internationalization and Localization
    • Marketing
    • Quality Assurance
    • Release management
    • Security
  • Community Support
    • Active and visible within the Foresight community, including IRC, mailing lists, forums or the wiki
  • Artwork
  • Advocacy
• Membership status must be renewed yearly.

Procedure to Becoming a Member

1. Make sure you meet the above requirements.
2. Create a page for you on the Foresight Wiki detailing your contributions to Foresight. (Example Member Application)
3. Add your name to the Request Membership page with a link to your wiki page.
4. Attend the next Focus meeting to answer any questions the council might have.
   • If you can, ask some of the members and developers that you have worked with to come and cheer for you.
